A Kilwinning man who assaulted a woman by pinning her to the ground by the throat was given unpaid work.
Andrew McCulloch, of Stobbs Terrace, Kilwinning appeared before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week (Tuesday, February 6) after earlier pleading guilty to a charge of assault.
At an address in Bourtreehill, 27-year-old McCulloch assaulted the woman by pinning her by the neck with his knee and compressing her throat.
He also threw the woman against the wall to her injury during the incident on December 9 last year.
McCulloch received a Community Payback Order with supervision for two years, including 100 hours of unpaid work.
He will also have to take part in a programme to help address violent behaviour towards woman for two years.
