A hit Netflix drama has been confirmed for a second series just a month after it was first released on the streaming platform.
The drama ended on a cliff-hanger leaving fans “excited” to see how the show played out.
The announcement was revealed in a video on Instagram featuring the main stars of the show.
The post was captioned: “The chase continues... even for this announcement. NEMESIS has officially been renewed for season 2.”
What is Nemesis about?
The synopsis for the show reads: “A relentless LAPD cop becomes obsessed with taking down the master thief behind a string of daring heists — and only one can come out on top.”
The show follows Isaiah Stiles, an LAPD cop, played by Matthew Law, who you might recognise for playing O’Shon in Abbott Elementary.
Isaiah is stuck in a game of cat-and-mouse with the career criminal Coltrane Wilder, played by Y’Ian Noel, who starred in shows like Insecure and Lady in the Lake.
The cast also features Gabrielle Dennis, as Isaiah’s wife, and Cleopatra Coleman, who stars as Ebony Wilder, Coltrane’s wife and accomplice.
The show was created by Courtney A Kemp and Tani Marole.
In an interview with Tudum, Kemp said: “I feel blessed to get a season two. We thank the fans…it’s because of them — there’s no other reason.
“It’s them showing up, them talking about it and their huge social media response.
“We are grateful to Netflix for recognising the power of our audience and bringing us back for the fans.”
What do critics think of Nemesis?
The show has a 76 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes with critics praising it for its “well-executed action sequences” and “assured absurdity that doesn’t hinder its watchability”.
