A comedian who will be in the new series of Celebrity Traitors has revealed that he broke one of the show’s rules.
The series, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, has been filmed but has not yet aired, with fans being teased with sneak peeks in the run-up to it being released.
Joe Lycett, one of the celebrity participants, shared this week that he was “telling everyone” that he’d be involved in the new series, despite signing an NDA which states that celebrities mustn’t reveal that they’re part of the line-up until the BBC announces it.
He appeared on Hits Radio Breakfast Show and said: “We weren’t meant to ask people if they were doing it.
“You sign the NDA, and they say 'don’t tell anyone you’re doing it', but if you search the word ‘Traitors’ in my WhatsApp, I told everyone!
“I was telling Uber drivers. I was telling everyone.”
Despite this reveal, Lycett did manage to keep quiet about the series itself, so fans need to wait to find out who was ‘murdered’ first and who the Traitors and Faithfuls are.
He told listeners, and hosts Fleur East and Will Best, that he got on with his fellow castmates: “I got on with everyone, and I thought there were certain people I wouldn’t get on with when I saw the lineup.”
Lycett added: “You don’t know the lineup, but I think they published it two days before we went in, and I was like ‘oh god’.
“I talked about actors and there was loads of them, but there wasn’t a single person in there that I didn’t get on with.
“I asked Joanne McNally, who is one of my favourite people in the world, and she said ‘I’m in as well’ so the comics sort of worked out who was in because we all talk to each other.”
How does The Traitors work?
The show is filmed at Ardross Castle in Scotland and all contestants begin as Faithfuls, with a small number secretly selected as Traitors shortly after.
They spend the day working together to complete challenges to earn money for the prize pot, which could get up to £120,000.
The Faithfuls have to successfully banish all the Traitors before the end of the series.
If all the Traitors are gone by the end of the show, the remaining Faithfuls win the prize money.

However, if there are any Traitors left at the end, they steal the money from the Faithfuls.
In the celebrity series, all prize money won at the end goes to the charity chosen by the winner (or charities if there is more than one winner).
