Two Scottish chippies have been named finalists in today's top takeaway title at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.

The two that feature, which are located in Aberdeen and Ayrshire, made the top 10 after the list was whittled down from 20 eateries across the country.

The National Fish and Chip Awards 2023 take place annually and aim to raise standards across the industry.

This is the largest event dedicated to the fish and chip business and has been running for more than 30 years.

Andrew Crook, President of the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), said: “It was a tricky job whittling down the top twenty to the top ten, but the chosen takeaways have demonstrated a clear reason as to why they are deserving of this accolade.

"All finalists should be extremely proud and our judges are looking forward to getting stuck into the next set of judging!”

The best takeaway chippy will be announced after a panel of experts from across the industry undertake a rigorous judging of the 10 finalists.

The award ceremony will take place on February 28, 2023, at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.
