IT was a quiet week for Irvine Running Club, with the main focus being on local Parkrun events.
At the Eglinton Parkrun a number of Irvine Running Club members took part on a cold Saturday morning. Paul Lafferty, continuing his training for the London marathon, was third overall in a time of 18:04 with Alan Douglas (18:55), points table leader Jim Sneddon (20:57) and John Surgenor (21:14) not too far behind. Liz Colquhoun (28:13), Susan Rhodes (32:07), Euan Rhodes (34:31) were next home with volunteer tail runner Jennie Jackson (44:35) completing the Irvine contingent.
Further afield, Stephen Daye produced another personal best time of 16:23 to take third position at the Parkrun in Victoria Park on the south side of Glasgow on Saturday morning. This knocked 22 seconds off his previous best on the course which he recorded last week.
