TWO Irvine martial arts aces are celebrating some major medal success.
Irvine Judo Club aces Ross Carswell (21) and Grant Blair (16) took part in the Aberdeen Open.
Gold medal success was celebrated by Ross in the under 100kg event, while Grant landed bronze in the over 100kg category.
Ross - in only his second mainstream judo contest - clinched his fifth gold medal out of five, after winning his three fights with straight maximum points wins. Grant had no-one to fight in his age category and took the decision to fight in the adult category, narrowly losing in the final.
