KILMARNOCK 1

HAMILTON ACCIES 1

TWELVE months after Steve Clarke took charge at then ailing Kilmarnock, the Rugby Park side are now flying high in second place.

They are unbeaten in five games after being held at home on Saturday by a resilient Accies side, who always seem to find a way to stay up.

While Killie didn't play especially well, they at least managed to take something from a game they would probably have lost before Clarke's arrival.

Defender Greg Taylor was disappointed not to win on Saturday but is now relishing tonight's (Wednesday) clash with Rangers at Ibrox.

He said: “We’ve set a high bar for ourselves and once you set those standards you don’t want to drop them, and I would say we did drop them on Saturday, which is disappointing. But we’ll look to bounce back on Wednesday and hopefully get three points at Ibrox. How far can we go? We've not put a target on it. We just look at each game and want to win. Rangers haven’t lost

at home this season and they’ve started well. They look a force at Ibrox so we understand it will be a tough game. But we go into every game wanting to win and that will be the aim on Wednesday.”

Rory McKenzie’s goal just before half-time on cancelled out Dougie Imrie’s opener for Hamilton but Kilmarnock, for the first time in five games, couldn’t find a winner.

“Of course we wanted to get the three points but we probably didn’t deserve it,” Taylor added.

“We weren’t at our best. Thirteen points from 15 is a decent return but this was a disappointing result. It says a lot that we’ve moved up into second and we’re still disappointed. We’ve come a long way in a short space of time since the gaffer came in a year ago. The fans want us to always be on the front foot to try to get that win but on Saturday we just couldn’t get that last pass right. "But we’ll look to put that right on Wednesday and get back to where we've been.”
