FORM team Irvine Meadow continued their revival as they racked up a fifth victory out of six on Saturday.
Brian McGinty's team edged out Vale of Leven 2-1 in an Ardagh Group West of Scotland Cup first round tie.
But their "reward" is a testing trip to Bellsdale Park to face fellow former winners Beith early next year.
The manager admitted the defeat helped gave them a lift following their surprise Scottish Junior Cup defeat to Kilsyth.
He said: "It really was disappointing to go out of the Scottish Cup a few weeks ago but hopefully this win will make up a bit for losing in the Scottish Cup. But we are on a good run and that's our only defeat in the last six games. It wasn't a great game against Kilsyth but the important thing in cup competitions is to get through."
The challenge of Beith now awaits and McGinty said: "It's bound to be a difficult tie as Beith are a very good side but we will put it on the back burner as we have other tough games coming up."
Saturdays sees fourth bottom Meadow host sixth-placed Glenafton Athletic in a league match and McGinty said: "It will be very difficult as they won a treble a couple of seasons ago and are a strong side but we are at home and looking to win."
