IRVINE VICTORIA 0
DARVEL 2

VICTORIA’s survival hopes suffered a setback as they went down at home to fellow strugglers Darvel in what was deemed a six-pointer.
The Westenders had been looking to bounce back following their home loss against Neilston a week earlier but found it tough going against a gritty visiting side.
Darvel began brightly and went ahead with a goal in just 14 minutes.
In 69 minutes they were awarded a hotly-disputed penalty and netted from the spot to double their advantage.
Three minutes from time the visitors were reduced to 10 men following a straight red card.
But the contest was well over by this point.
Brian McLuckie’s side have slipped back following an early New Year win at Whitletts Victoria and must start picking up some wins if they want to get out of the danger zone.
Next up is a visit to Dalmellington to take on a Craigmark Burntonians side, who were promoted along with them last season.
IRVINE VICTORIA: McDonald; Ashe, Donnelly. Holden, Farrell, Cheaney,  Loughlin, McKenzie, Skeoch, Adam, McKinlay.
Meanwhile the Irvine Victoria 4 Ball Lotto numbers from February 16 were:  9, 10, 22 and 27.
There were no winners and prize money for next week’s draw will be £325.
