IRVINE MEADOW 1

KILWINNING RANGERS 2

SLICK Buffs stretched their unbeaten Premiership run to three games as they defeated Meadow with victory easier than the scoreline suggests.

They avenged defeat against their rivals here at Meadow Park 10 months ago and were well worthy of all three points against a home side who had a bad day at the office.

The visitors have taken seven points from their first three games and signs suggest they can improve on last season.

Buffs blasted into the lead with the first opening of the game in two minutes when a great three-man move when Sam McCloskey teed up Ben Lewis and he found Dean Agnew to nudge the ball home from six yards.

Two minutes later at the other end Adam Forsyth had his shot well saved by David Markey.

The visitors had a great chance in 13 minutes when David Syme had a long range effort well saved by Shaun Newman. Then in 20 minutes Jared Willet sent a precision pass to Forsyth, whose effort was saved on the line by David Market.

Buffs spurned another opportunity in 26 minutes when an Agnew effort was brilliantly saved by Newman and from the resulting corner Garry Fleming headed wide from the edge of the box.

Willet shot inches wide from six yards in 32 minutes as Meadow tried to get back into the match.

Agnew had his 10-yard effort brilliantly saved by Newman in 35 minutes as Buffs continued to dominate. The same player was denied by Newman from 12 yards in 44 minutes.

Buffs came agonisingly close in 53 minutes when a Carlo Monti volley from a 25 yards crept narrowly over the bar.

At the other end on the hour a long range shot from Ben Carson was easily stopped by Marley.

However Buffs doubled their advantage in great style in 66 minutes when Monti smashed a free-kick from 25 yards into the top corner of the net.

Meadow were unlucky in 75 minutes when a strong header from eight yards by Darren Jones was well saved by Markey.

Buffs went close again in 80 minutes when Kieran McLaughlin shot narrowly wide from 16 yards.

Medda pulled a goal back in 83 minutes when Eddie McTernan sent a superb pass to Forsyth to hook the ball home from six yards but it was too little, too late.
