NEW Irvine Meadow co-boss Colin Spence has scolded former Troon team-mate Dale Moore for wrecking his dug-out debut.
Moore scored a last gasp winner as Glenafton Athletic came from 2-0 down to defeat Meadow 3-2 in what was the first game in charge for Spence and Meadow team-mate James Latta.
Spence, appointed four days earlier said on Sunday : “I met Dale in town this morning and said thanks for spoiling my day by getting the winning goal. I know him well from Troon and he’s a good player.”
However the co-boss was impressed with his team’s display in the opening 20 minutes when they were 2-0 up and admitted it had come from the Auchinleck Talbot playbook.
He said: “We tried it in training and it worked well, especially since we scored the opener in 30 seconds, which could be a record at Meadow Park. Just like my old boss Tommy Sloan at Auchinleck Talbot, we had a high tempo and high intensity and have to do it more.”
