Irvine Meadow co-manager James Latta says there are some good points to take from of their 4-2 loss in the Eglinton Cup to Kilwinning Rangers.
Despite going two goals down early on Meadow fought twice to bring the deficit down to one in the first half.
Speaking to the Times, Latta said: “I said after the game to the players if we give away three goals like that, we are not going to win anything this year.
“The positive from the game however was the way we fought back and got back into the game.
“It could have gone either way in the second half, we had a couple of chances and so did they, but we can do a lot better than that.”
Meadow face Glenafton at home next week in their first game of the 2021/22 West of Scotland Football League Premier Division.
And Latta said that his side will have to quickly forget their cup defeat.
The manager added: “It is a completely different
game, we had a couple of players missing at the weekend, and we should have a full squad to choose from next week.
“We just need to dust ourselves down from that defeat and go again.”
