IRVINE Elite Boxing Club took home two golds and a silver from the recent Western District Open Championships.

The Irvine club's head coach Joe Affleck said: "This was Lee's first time entering an open competition with both his opponents having more than double the fights that he had which made it two great wins.
"Lee trained so hard for this competition and it showed in both fights."
He added: "Jamie Bingham, who is our reigning Scottish youth champion, beat Blair Millar from East Kilbride BC.
"Jamie used all his experience and superior skills to win a comfortable decision winning gold, becoming the Western District Champion for the second year running."
Cameron Bladeslost to Lewis Reed from Larkhall BC in the flyweight elite final in a 3-2 split decision to get silver.
Joe said: "Cameron had the better skills and movement but the judges favoured his opponent.
"We are proud of all three boys who trained hard and gave their all. We are expecting a big second half of the season from the three boys with the Scottish championships coming up in March."
