RUGBY sides from across Ayrshire refused to be blown off track by Storm Éowyn this weekend.
Friday, January 24, saw some of the worst conditions the area has seen for nearly a decade - and understandably a majority of rugby fixtures were postponed the following day.

Further down the leagues, in National Division Three, Garnock RFC also saw their fixture fall.
It was initially thought their match against Hillhead Jordanhill would go ahead at Lochshore but the game was postponed at the last minute due to safety concerns with some small areas of standing water.

That was exactly what happened at the Memorial Field as the North Ayrshire outfit ran out resounding 61-17 winners to keep pressure on league leaders Strathmore.
In the regional leagues, there was no action at all in West Division One with every scheduled match postponed on Saturday.
Kilmarnock's trip to Annan and Cumnock's journey to Cambuslang were amongst the games which were unable to beat the weather.

The result takes the Maybole side to the top of the table for the time being, though sides below them have games in hand to the leaders.
In women's rugby, one Ayrshire side saw their match go ahead on Sunday, January 26.
The National Plate competition got up and running this weekend and Irvine RFC got their campaign off to a perfect start.
