EGLINTON FC have secured promotion into the West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) Third Division.

The Kilwinning side guaranteed their top nine place in the current Fourth Division without kicking a ball at the weekend.

Results elsewhere meant that they sealed the deal on Saturday.

It is a landmark moment for the club, with the honour their first promotion since forming and joining the WoSFL in 2022.

The achievement was hailed by club chairman Alasdair Drummond, who praised the club's management team who only took over weeks before the season got underway.

He said: “I am delighted for everyone involved with the club, both on and off the pitch. The hard work put in over the past season by players, coaches and volunteers has certainly paid off.

"I would like to pay special thanks to our management team of Kevin Deeney, Mark Ferris and Colin Brown who, having taken the reins during a transitional period for the club last summer, have delivered exactly what was asked of them.

"We now look forward to life in the Third Division and I am excited to see the club continue to grow and progress.”
