THE world's best golfers are set to compete for glory as the Women's Scottish Open gets underway at Dundonald Links.
Seven of the top 10 ranked players will feature when the first day of the competitions starts from 7.30am on Thursday, July 23.
Scotland will have two home hopefuls competing for the title with Gemma Dryburgh and Hannah Darling amongst the field.
England's Lottie Woad will be out to defend her title as she returns to the Irvine course where she won on her professional debut last year.
She commented: "I didn't appreciate at the time, obviously being my first event, I didn't know what to expect.
"Now I've been playing every week, and playing with the same people, and obviously seeing how good everyone is, yeah, [it would] definitely [be] more special now."
North Ayrshire crowds will also be excited to see world number one Nelly Korda tee it up at Dundonald Links.
The American says she is looking forward to the test the course will pose as she continues preparations for next week's AIG Women's Open.
She said: "It's very different. I mean, you definitely have to hit more of the imagination button.
"Depending on the weather that you get, some of the greens are a little bit elevated which makes it tougher to run the ball up than it might be next week.
"It brings me back to the roots of golf, of playing in this kind of weather, this kind of golf course, and being a little bit more artistic.”
England's Charley Hull is another certain to be a fan's favourite as she aims to improve on her best Women's Scottish Open finish of fifth place.
The world number seven said: "You have to be precise where you're pitching it because you can get random bounces and also release a lot more in different parts on the golf course. You have to be more strategic, shall I say.
"I'm kind of understanding links golf a little bit more in tournaments. I think it suits me, it's good prep going into next week."
