IRVINE Meadow boss Jamie McKim says there is "no panic" after consecutive league defeats for his side.
After leading 1-0 away at Glenafton in midweek, the hosts came back to lead the game 3-1 and ultimately won 3-2.
It was a similar story on Saturday as Stephen Docherty had Meadow 1-0 ahead at home to Kilbirnie Ladeside when the half-time whistle sounded.
The visitors came back in the second period, with Dale Simeone and Marc Walker strikes giving the Garnock Valley outfit a 2-1 victory.
McKim said that neither showing has given him any major concerns about the tide not turning.
“I can’t say I’m unhappy with the level of performance," he said. "It’s individual moments that are killing us.
“The goals we’ve lost in the last week alongside the chances we are missing is a bad combination.
“I would be more worried if we weren’t creating the chances and putting ourselves in that position.
“I know it’s just a bit of fine-tuning. We’re a week into the season, I’m relaxed about it. It’s just a case of working on the training pitch and adding a bit of depth.”
The Meadow boss is also looking forward to a full week on the training ground with his side not back in action until Saturday, August 8, when they face a trip to take on Shotts Bon Accord (2pm KO).
McKim added: “I’ve been here before, it’s not as if I’ve not been over the course, lost a couple of games, and had to identify and fix problems.
“I’m disappointed in the number of points we’ve got on the board at the moment, that’s certainly not what we planned for.
“We just need to look forward, look to improve and get back to winning ways. There’s no panic, it’s now about getting to work on the training pitch this week.
“At this level, in pre-season, guys go on holidays, they’re away. Having the whole group together will give us the right preparation.”
He is also confident that he can add further depth to his squad in the weeks to come.
McKim continued: “We waited for a reason in terms of recruitment. It can be quite hard to get the guys that you want in straight away.
“We have managed to get four or five of them in but I still feel we are one or two short in terms of depth.
“I had a really deep squad last season but it wasn’t all ready for the first day, it was a work in progress throughout the season. That’s going to be the case again this year.”
