IRVINE Meadow boss Jamie McKim has challenged his players to develop a "ruthless streak" after their progression in the South Challenge Cup.
It was a comfortable afternoon as McKim's side ran out 3-0 winners away to Maryhill thanks to goals from Wilson, Baird and Docherty.
However, the Medda boss admits he wants his side to score more goals when they are on top of games.
He said: "I thought it was a difficult one. The pitch was a wee bit longer than what would suit us, and a tough opponent who were well organised.
"It was good to get ahead early but I wanted us to kick on from that. It took us a wee while to get the second and third to make it comfortable.
"To come away in the cup to a difficult venue and get a clean sheet and three goals, I can't have many complaints.
"I want to see us develop a wee bit more of a ruthless streak. I thought we had plenty of chances first half we should have taken but that's something for us to work on.
"I thought we were in control of the game. At some point you need to click into gear and start taking more chances."
McKim singled out praise for new signing Danny Wilson, who opened the scoring and made a big contribution throughout the 90 minutes.
He said: "Danny is a good signing for us. You can see in that final third when he gets on the ball, he's always a danger.
"In two games he's scored two goals, assisted and won a penalty, so he's dangerous and a real asset.
"He's someone I think will only get better. He's got more to learn in terms of how we play and he can get fitter as well."
Last week, Medda announced the signing of striker Mark Taylor from Arthurlie, who the club described as a "proven goalscorer".
The club said: "A proven goalscorer with an excellent reputation in the West of Scotland game, Mark has been a long-term target for the management team and a player we have tracked and admired for some time.
"We're delighted to finally bring him to Meadow Park."
