A DOUBLE from striker James Marks helped Meadow motor into the fourth round after this tie went ahead at the eighth time of asking in Aberdeen.

Meadow gave a debut to new signing Paul McQuilken, formerly of Dumbarton, Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, Petershill and Pollok.

The first half was fairly uneventful with little in the way of chances.

However the match exploded into life just after the break when Darren Miller appeared to be punch in the stomach. Shortly after t his they were reduced to 10 men when another player was sent packing for a poor challenge on Ben Black.

The visitors took the lead with 15 minutes remaining when a McQuilken cross was powerfully headed home by former Largs Thistle striker Marks.

Then they made sure of victory late on when Marks blasted the ball home from 20 yards.

The reward for Meadow is a home fourth round tie on Saturday against Dunbar United, conquerors of Ardrossan Winton Rovers.
