Simon Gustafson netted a brace as FC Utrecht registered their first Eredivisie win under Dick Advocaat by beating NAC Breda 2-1 at Stadion Galgenwaard.
Gustafson opened the scoring with a penalty in first-half stoppage time, then doubled the lead four minutes after the break when he sent a shot past Benjamin Van Leer from distance.
Mikhail Rosheuvel pulled a goal back in the 65th minute but the visitors were unable to avoid a seventh successive defeat in all competitions.
While they remain at the bottom of the table, Utrecht – who appointed boss Advocaat as successor to Jean-Paul de Jong last month – are up from 16th to ninth.
