ONE OF Ayrshire's most-loved gastro-pubs has revealed details of its full menu ahead of reopening.

And The Ship Ayrshire - formerly The Ship Inn - has opened up table bookings for irvine's oldest pub ahead of its return.

Last open in July 2020, the venue will reopen on Friday, January 27.

Its return to the Irvine food scene has been long awaited, with thousands reacting excitedly to the news of the official return date - which the Times revealed earlier this month.

The Ship confirmed the news to their social media followers in a statement on January 17.

It read: "Nearly 3 years have passed, and at times it didn't feel like the old girl would sail again, but...

"Lots of hard work, the best times, the worst times, huge ups and incredible downs and a whole load of new friendships formed...we're ready to set sail.

"Join The Ship and their crew from the January 27 as we begin our next adventure."

The same post also revealed details of how to book a table so you can try out the The Ship again.

Bookings, for the time being, can be exclusively made through the 'reserve' button on their Facebook page - facebook.com/theshipayrshire.

But those looking to secure a space will need to move fast, with almost all dining slots on their first weekend filled already as this article was published.

Midweek slots from Wednesday February 1 (as The Ship will not open on Mondays and Tuesdays) have plenty of space available.

Also shared for the very first time was their full new menu - which has certainly delivered on a number of promises.

Irvine Times:

As owner Christopher Murray told the Times when we visited the venue at the beginning of the month - a number of old favourites will once again be on offer.

Chips, which were famously not always on the Ship Inn menu, have been included for their re-opening.

The team hasalready had a number of questions about the menu, so provided clarity for those looking for more information.

They said: "This is our Winter Menu to start us off as we find our feet again.

"We will introduce a new menu with each season, ensuring we use the freshest produce available, all made in The Ship kitchen by our talented executive chef and his team.

"There will be weekly specials, old favourites making a comeback for special occasions, and a children's menu for our mini visitors."

So it looks like it's now time to look out the glad rags and get ready for a night at The Ship once again.
